For the love of car culture: Five awesome events from 2015
The world of car cruises and auto shows is a fast paced and exciting one. Not only are they often family-friendly affairs, but they have lots of other entertainment and competitions on offer, making them a fantastic day out for hard core petrolheads and families alike. From classic car shows, to automotive festivals and motor races, we’ve rounded up our five awesome events from 2015 to date – thrills, spills and all!
We all enjoy looking at a beautiful car in a magazine or online; but nothing compares to the experience of seeing the latest concept cars and production models up close and personal at an auto show. The same is true for seeing a racing car race around the track; feeling the buzz and energy in the atmosphere – which beats watching it on tv any day!
1 – UK: Goodwood Festival of Speed

‘Fast and Fearless: Racing on the Edge’ was the theme at this year’s amazing three day Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) event, celebrating a whole host of racing milestones and anniversaries. You can watch the full video of all three days on the Goodwood website here.
Highlights:- More than 180,000 people visited this 3-day spectacular
- The Fiat S76, belching flame and smoke from its 300bhp, 28.4-litre four cylinder engine, was driven in public for the first time in more than a century!

4 – USA: New York International Auto Show

In the dawn of the 20th century, the New York International Automobile Show became North America’s first ever automotive exhibition. Fast forward more than a hundred years – remaining resilient through war and recession – it has continued its pioneering tradition of bringing new and innovative ideas to a global stage, and there’s no better place to host it than New York City, with its energy and reputation for hosting world-class events. This year the show brought virtually every make and model vehicle sold in the U.S. under one roof; from fuel-sipping economy cars, ground-breaking concept cars, to million dollar supercars!
5 – Japan: Tokyo Motor Show

This year’s theme, “Your heart will race” summed up what the Tokyo Motor Show aimed to do: to become the top technology motor show in the world. This year was its 44th show, based on the concept of “Technology + Fantasy” to deliver an exhilarating experiences to visitors as they discovered the latest technologies in the motor industry.
And the excitement doesn’t stop there either. 2016 is set to be a fantastic year for car shows and races across the globe, with world class events such as the North American International Auto Show, the European Motor Show, and the International Geneva Motor Show. If you fancy a trip abroad, there’s certainly a lot to choose from!
